Welcome To Orissa Water Supply & Sewerage Board
- Orissa Water Supply & Sewerage Board (OWSSB) was established in the year 1991 as per the Orissa Water Supply & Sewerage Board Act, 1991 for the rapid development and proper regulation of water supply and sewerage services in the state of Orissa.
Orissa Water Supply and Sewerage Board (OWSSB) is the nodal agency in the state to implement projects related to the urban sanitation.
- OWSSB executes sewerage and septage projects in the state and after completion, hands over the projects to Public Health Engineering Organization (OPHEO) for operation and maintenance

As per the Resolution No 16614/HUD, Dated 10 September, 2019 of Housing and Urban Development Department published in the Gazette of Odisha, the roles and responsibilities of Orissa Water Supply and Sewerage Board (OWSSB) have been reassigned as below:
- (a) Providing technical support on Sewerage and Septage systems, technical support in the Quality Assurance, and Quality Control along with Regulatory functions of clear water and wastewater management, capacity building in the above matter etc.
